Longmont's Aspen Center for Child Development takes pride in allowing each child to blossom through individual learning experiences, allowing for optimal teaching moments, and providing children nurturing care children need to thrive. As part of our daycare, preschool, and school readiness programs, we offer an array of programs and special experiences designed to enhance each child's growth and success. Just a few of them include:
Meal Program: Because good nutrition is closely tied to effective learning, Aspen Center for Child Development makes it a priority to provide nutritious, healthy, fresh meals each day. All children receive breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks each day. Our chef prepares meals using fresh produce from OUR Center’s garden and other healthy foods. The staff also works closely with parents to address any special dietary concerns.
Stretch-n-Grow: A “fabulously-fun fitness program for kids.” Created in 1992, Stretch-n-Grow has since expanded internationally and is dedicated to establishing healthy habits in children. Aspen Center for Child Development is now one of thousands of centers offering Stretch-n-Grow classes led by well-trained and certified instructors all over the world. By making exercise fun, children are taught the importance of a healthy lifestyle while building a foundation of fitness and well-being.
Zoo-phonics: Combining an adorable cast of animal characters with sounds, songs, body movements and games, Zoo-phonics is designed to put kids on a fast-track to literacy. The program was developed by award-winning teachers and is used in thousands of classrooms nationwide.
Creative Curriculum® Program: A research-based preschool curriculum which is also utilized by the St. Vrain Valley School District. This curriculum has been proven to set up an environment that is developmentally appropriate and stimulating for each age level. It is based on the philosophy that young children learn best by doing and through hands-on experiences.
Other Unique Offerings: Aspen Center for Child Development children get to experience a wealth of enriching and engaging activities, in addition to their daily classroom learning. Often, guest speakers from the community come into the facility to provide education on their various areas of expertise. Children also get to go out into the community to experience downtown Longmont's business, recreational, educational, and cultural offerings as well. In addition, our children have the opportunity to learn to communicate with others through specialized sign language instruction, and more.
Aspen Center for Child Development is located at 501 5th Avenue in Longmont
