Empty Bowls - Saturday, March 10, 2012 - Longmont High School, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Looking for volunteers to solicit sponsors, serve soup, set up and clean up, distribute bowls, solicit artists, help at the silent auction, and sell tickets.

Spirit of Thanksgiving Dinner - Thanksgiving Day November 22, 2012 at Old Chicago Restaurant in Longmont. Watch for upcoming information on this traditional Thanksgiving feast for the entire community. Volunteer slots are full for this year; please check www.craftworksfoundation.org "Holiday Programs" to learn how you can donate to support this wonderful community event.

Salvation Army Bell-Ringing Campaign - November 23 - December 24, 2012

Join in this simple yet crucial outreach opportunity by staffing a kettle to raise funds for others' basic needs through this partnership between the OUR Center and The Salvation Army. One-hour minimum shift required; scheduled Friday evenings through Sunday evenings at stores in Longmont. Money raised stays in the St. Vrain Valley to assist with rent, utililties, shelter, prescriptions, and convalescent care.

We need individual ringers and people willing to coordinate a group.

This is a fun, easy project for families, churches, service groups, businesses, etc. - anyone who wants to make a difference!

Warm & Cozy Holiday Program

Looking for people to "adopt" families for the holidays by providing cash assistance for rent or utilities, or to purchase NEW items of warmth - coats, sweaters, caps, gloves, socks, jeans, shirts, blankets, etc.

Contributions are being taken at: OUR Center, 303 Atwood St., Longmont, CO 80501. Please note "Warm and Cozy Holiday Program" on your cash donation.

Deadline to receive in-kind contributions is Monday, December 10, 2012.

Free breakfast weekdays (9:30-10:30) and free hot lunch 7 days/week (11:30-1:00). Food pantry distributes food via voucher system to residents of the St. Vrain Valley. Donations of food and personal care items are accepted at this facility.

Warming Center
(temporary emergency shelter in severe winter weather)

Temporary, nighttime shelter, meals, and referrals for adults who are homeless in severe winter weather (when temperature is 30 degrees or below and wet).

Staff and volunteers provide food vouchers, rent and utility assistance, local transportation, minor medical prescriptions, emergency shelter referrals, budget counseling, and agency information. The Volunteer Program Office coordinates volunteer needs for all facilities. Donations of cash and gift cards are accepted at this facility.
